Consular Processing & Visa Interviews

If you are outside the United States when your petition is approved, or you choose to finish the case abroad, the green card is issued as an immigrant visa by a U.S. consulate after a National Visa Center stage and an interview. The same consulates issue the H-1B, L-1 and O-1 visas that let approved workers enter. Both processes are document-heavy, interview-driven and unforgiving of inconsistencies with what was filed before. We prepare the file, and we prepare you.

HOW WE HELP

What we work on

01

The National Visa Center stage

Fee bills, the DS-260, civil documents, police certificates and, in family cases, the affidavit of support—submitted in the format the NVC expects, so the case is documentarily complete and scheduled without a second round.

02

The immigrant visa interview

The medical exam with a panel physician, the documents to bring, and preparation for the questions a consular officer, in Guangzhou or elsewhere, is likely to ask about your work, your petition and your history.

03

H-1B, L-1 and O-1 visa interviews

The DS-160, the interview, and the documents that show the job and the employer are as described in the approved petition. Where administrative processing under section 221(g) is likely, we prepare for it rather than discover it.

04

Consistency with the record

Consular officers see the petition, prior visa applications and prior statements. Dates, employers, titles and the description of your work must match. We check the file against everything previously submitted.

OUR APPROACH

How the case moves forward

01

Prepare

Assemble the NVC or DS-160 package and verify it against the approved petition and prior filings.

02

Schedule

Complete the NVC stage or book the interview, and arrange the medical exam.

03

Interview and entry

Prepare you for the interview, respond to any 221(g) request, and advise on entry and the USCIS immigrant fee.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions we hear often

Practical answers to frequently asked questions. Individual circumstances can affect the best course of action.

Can I choose consular processing even though I am in the United States?+
Yes, in most employment-based cases. It can make sense when you need to travel freely, when adjustment eligibility is in doubt, or when timing favors it. It means an interview abroad and no interim work permit or travel document.
How long does the NVC stage take?+
It depends on how quickly documents are submitted and accepted, and on the consulate's scheduling. Submitting a complete, correctly formatted package the first time is the part we can control.
What is administrative processing?+
A post-interview review under section 221(g), common for applicants in certain technical fields. It can take weeks or months. We prepare the documents that most often resolve it and advise on timing before you travel.
My H-1B was approved. Do I still need a visa?+
If you are outside the United States, yes: the approval notice is not a visa. You apply at a consulate with the DS-160 and the petition documents, and the visa in your passport is what allows entry.
